Update on Provision of Passport Services
Our public offices are closed until further notice. Passport Service staff have been redeployed to assist public service delivery during this public health emergency.
While you can still apply for your passport using Passport Online, we cannot guarantee the usual turnaround times. Online applications that require the posting of supporting documents to your nearest Embassy or Consulate should not be posted at this time.
Post Offices in Ireland will not be accepting applications made via the Passport Express system during this time. If you have already sent an application, your application is safe and will be processed once we resume services.
Our phones lines are also closed. If you need a passport for travel in a genuine emergency (death or serious illness of a family member or for emergency medical treatment of the applicant), please contact us through our Webchat service.
We have stopped processing Foreign Birth Registrations. If you have already sent an application for Foreign Birth Registration, your application is safe and will be processed once we resume services.
