16 June 2021The Embassy was honoured to participate in the Joycean book giveaway, the Embassy donated copies of James Joyce works, comprising Ulysses, Dubliners and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man for the permanent collections of the National Library of Malta and Malta's Public Library system respectively.
A similar set was presented to the permanent collection of the National Literacy Agency Malta.
The Embassy was also delighted to once again participate in a global short film by the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland as well as the Museum of National Literature of Ireland, called #OpeningUlysses. The filming took place in over 40 locations across the world, with Cheryl Falzon, National Librarian of Malta and CEO of Malta Libraries reciting from Ulysses against the stunning backdrop of Malta’s Torri l-Ahmar.
