Originally from Dublin, she moved to the German capital in 2008 to study, after a stint working at local newspapers and current affairs magazines. As a freelance reporter, she now mainly works for DW, Germany's international broadcaster, as a climate, environment and globalization correspondent. Her work has also appeared in outlets including El País, USA Today, The Washington Post and Canada's Globe and Mail. Jennifer's work focuses on inequality, human rights and justice. She's reported on issues ranging from the environmental justice, gentrification and migration to the far-right in Europe and legacy cases in Northern Ireland. Jennifer received a development reporting grant from the European Journalism Centre to work with other journalists around the world on a project focusing on women's rights. This project took her to Afghanistan, where she produced several reports on the political situation, food security and women's rights.
She also co-hosts a new podcast called Flawed (https://instabio.cc/3052710yzrebM), which investigates whether European laws meant to protect women are doing the job.
