Discussing 50 Years of Ireland’s membership of the EU

This year, in 2023, Ireland celebrates 50 years of membership in the European Union. EU membership has been instrumental in Ireland’s rapid economic rise and societal transformation, and the facilitation of peace on our island.
You are invited to join us on Wednesday, 28th June 2023 at 18.30 in the Europäische Akademie Berlin, Bismarckallee 46/48, 14193 Berlin and can register for the event on the EAB website here.
Ambassador Dr. Nicholas O’Brien will provide opening remarks and a set of prominent experts from various fields of politics, culture and academia will discuss Ireland’s experience in the EU and how the European institutions and Ireland have mutually influenced one another.
The conversation will then move on to a small reception with a chance to view the exhibition Into Europe: Ireland and the EU accompanied by live Irish music.
The event is co-organised by Europäische Akademie Berlin und rbb24 Inforadio and the conversation will be recorded and broadcast on rbb24 Inforadio at 11.00 on 2 July 2023 (repeated at 20.00) as part of their “Forum” series.

Diskussion über 50 Jahre Mitgliedschaft Irlands in der EU

Dieses Jahr, im Jahr 2023, feiert Irland 50 Jahre Mitgliedschaft in der Europäischen Union. Die EU-Mitgliedschaft hat maßgeblich zu Irlands wirtschaftlichen Aufstieg und gesellschaftlichem Wandel beigetragen und den Frieden auf unserer Insel ermöglicht.
Sie sind herzlich eingeladen, am Mittwoch, den 28. Juni 2023 um 18.30 Uhr in der Europäischen Akademie Berlin, Bismarckallee 46/48, 14193 Berlin dabei zu sein und können sich hier auf der EAB-Website für die Veranstaltung anmelden.
Botschafter Dr. Nicholas O'Brien wird eine Eröffnungsrede halten und eine Reihe prominenter Experten aus verschiedenen Bereichen der Politik, Kultur und Wissenschaft werden über Irlands Erfahrungen in der EU diskutieren und darüber, wie die europäischen Institutionen und Irland sich gegenseitig beeinflusst haben.
Im Anschluss an das Gespräch findet ein kleiner Empfang statt, bei dem die Ausstellung Into Europe: Ireland and the EU besichtigt werden kann, begleitet von irischer Live-Musik.
Die Veranstaltung wird gemeinsam von der Europäischen Akademie Berlin und rbb24 Inforadio organisiert. Das Gespräch wird aufgezeichnet und am 2. Juli 2023 um 11.00 Uhr (Wiederholung um 20.00 Uhr) im Rahmen der Reihe "Forum" auf rbb24 Inforadio gesendet.
