Comprehensive Review of Irish German Relations
News
05 January 2018As we start 2018, we wanted to draw your attention to an announcement by the Tánaiste (Deputy Prime Minister) and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simon Coveney T.D. on 11 December last of a comprehensive review of Ireland-Germany relations. This reflects the vital importance which we attach to our relations and our desire to strengthen them further both bilaterally and in the context of our common membership of the EU. The review will range across the political, economic, cultural and community spectrum. Read the press release.
As part of the review we want to hear your views! We have prepared a short survey for Irish people, friends of Ireland and other stakeholders in Germany. The survey will only take a few minutes and it’s your chance to give your input to the future of Irish-German relations. We would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete it. Please feel free to forward it to anybody you know who might have ideas to add. The deadline for responses is 31 January.
Please complete the survey
In addition to the survey, Ambassador Michael Collins and Deputy Head of Mission Maeve von Heynitz will be visiting different cities in the course of January in the hope of gathering further views, ideas and suggestions for the review. Details of these consultations are set out below and we would be delighted if as many people as possible could attend on the different nights. We will send out reminders (as well as details for the locations yet to be confirmed in the course of the month). Please register for these consultations by emailing us and including the name of the city and the word “Consultations” in the "Your Query" box.
