St. Patrick's Day 2021

St. Patrick's Day 2021

While we might not be able to come together in person to celebrate Ireland’s national day this year, we are delighted that Irish community and cultural organisations in Scotland, and across Britain, are continuing the tradition of celebration with an exciting programme of virtual events.

This year, we are delighted to have greened the V&A Dundee (pictured above) in celebration of the strong, longstanding links between Ireland & Dundee, as part of Tourism Ireland’s Global Greening campaign.

The Consulate General of Ireland is searching for the most northerly Irish person in Scotland before St Patrick’s Day. Join the search for the most northerly #ArcticIrish person on Twitter with us @irlscotland – a mystery Irish prize awaits the winner!

On St Patrick’s Day, the Afternoon Show on BBC Radio Scotland will celebrate Irish arts and culture to mark the occasion. From 2pm join the show for an hour of Irish music and interviews with fantastic contemporary Irish artists including author Megan Nolan, cellist Patrick Dexter, and singer/songwriter Úna Healy.

Causeway: Ireland Scotland Business Exchange will host an early St Patrick’s Day online celebration and networking event, in partnership with the Dublin Chamber and the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday 16 March. Register here.

The Glasgow St Patrick’s Day Festival and Coatbridge St Patrick’s Day Festival are hosting a fantastic line-up of online events throughout the week to mark this year’s St Patrick’s Day – talks, quizzes, music, stories and more. The Consulate General of Ireland in Edinburgh is partnering with the Glasgow St Patrick’s Day Festival for a community #StPatricksDay Quiz on the Tuesday 16 March.
