How to Apply for a Passport
Apply Online
This is the fastest and cheapest way to get your first Irish passport or renew your passport. Once you have your photo, it only takes about ten minutes!
Passport Online is the only way to apply for an Irish Passport in your country.
Passport Online will return your passport book, passport card and relevant supporting documentation directly to you.
If you are resident outside of Ireland and do not qualify for or wish to use the online system, you need to use an APS2 application form.

Fees and Where to apply
Fees for paper based applications depend on the type of application and payment to the Embassy can be made in either Vietnamese Dong or Euro. If you are paying in Vietnamese Dong, the current Euro exchange rate will be confirmed at the time of payment and applied to the fees listed below.

You are responsible for paying any bank fees associated with the transaction. If you have a non-Vietnamese bank account, you can avoid expensive transfer charges by going to the Embassy's bank and lodging the money directly to our account in cash. Please contact us for more information about this.
For citizens residing in Cambodia and Lao PDR, please note that you will need arrange a courier service to deliver your documents to the Embassy. When your application is complete, the Embassy will contact you, following which you will also need arrange a courier service to collect the passport / documents from the Embassy in Hanoi and deliver them to you.
