"A Farther Shore" Continues this March

18 March 2021This month "A Farther Shore" will explore the events after the War of Independence as we continue our examination of Irish Independence.
On Friday 19 March, Glucksman Ireland House at New York University will host "Independent Ireland and Transatlantic Diplomacy", the third installment in our series with the American Conference of Irish Studies. Along with Ambassador Daniel Mulhall, panellists include Francis M. Carroll (University of Manitoba), Marion R. Casey (New York University), Miriam Nyhan Grey (New York University), and Bernadette Whelan (University of Limerick). This event is in association with the Consulate General of Ireland New York.

On Thursday 25 March, "A Farther Shore" turns its focus to Northern Ireland. Hosted by the Clingen Family Center for the Study of Modern Ireland at the Keough-Naughton Institute (University of Notre Dame), this event is titled "The Emergence of Northern Ireland" and will be moderated by Dr. Colin Barr (University of Notre Dame). Panellists include Dr. Niamh Gallagher (University of Cambridge), Prof. Bríona Nic Dhiarmada (University of Norte Dame), and Prof. Barry McCrea (University of Norte Dame). Ambassador Mulhall will give the closing remarks. This event is in assocation with the Consulate General of Ireland Chicago and ACIS Midwest.
