Ambassador James McIntyre

James McIntyre Irish Ambassador to Morocco

Ambassador's Welcome Message

On behalf of the team at the new Embassy of Ireland in Rabat, welcome to our website.

Here you will find information about the bilateral relationship between Ireland and Morocco and about the services provided by the Embassy.

It is my great honour to be Ireland’s first resident Ambassador-designate to Morocco.  My team and I are privileged to live in this wonderful city of Rabat and to work with our hosts and all of you to establish our diplomatic presence here.  We look forward in the coming months and years to exploring other parts of this beautiful and fascinating country as we build business, political, educational and cultural links across Morocco.

Ireland is fully committed to further deepening relations with Morocco and to serving the needs of Irish citizens.  I see so many connections between our two peoples and also see much untapped potential in our working together and sharing experiences.

We support the community of Irish people who are resident, or who may be travelling in Morocco, as well as Irish people, businesses, public bodies and educational and cultural institutions which are engaged in activities in Morocco.

The Embassy represents Team Ireland and we will facilitate in any way we can visits to Morocco from the Irish State Agencies. We look forward to building our network with Irish companies doing business with Morocco and Moroccan companies investing – or hoping to invest – in Ireland.

Continued visits and communication between our political systems are vital in furthering our relationship in the political sphere, as well as in trade and investment, food and agriculture, in education, research and culture.

Finally, we are very keen to get to know and keep in touch with the Irish community in Morocco and with friends of Ireland. We want to provide the best possible service to our citizens and to the Irish community in Morocco, so please let us know if you think we can improve in any of the areas in which we work. We value your feedback and will use it to enhance the services we offer.
