Tomorrowland 2019: Travel Tips

Tomorrowland is one of the world’s largest music festivals, taking place over 2 weekends this July in Boom, Belgium. Last year, 400,000 people attended the festival, including many from Ireland.

If you plan on attending Tomorrowland this year, we have some travel tips to help you enjoy the festival and stay safe.

Before you go …

MEDICATION, HEALTH and TRAVEL INSURANCE

If you are bringing prescribed medication with you to Tomorrowland, you are advised to bring a medical certificate with you.

Bring your European Health Insurance Card with you and if you don’t have one apply now.

We also strongly recommend that you buy comprehensive travel insurance

Read more about the importance of obtaining a EHIC and travel insurance on the Know Before You Go page.

PASSPORT and PASSPORT CARD

Lost or Stolen Passport Abroad

It is important to take care of your passport/passport card. In Belgium, you are required to be in possession of a photo ID at all times.

Make a copy of your passport and email it to yourself and a family member at home, in case it gets lost or stolen and you need replacement travel documents. A copy of another photo ID is also useful to have.

Apply for an Irish Passport Card. You can us this to travel within the EU/EEA and it fits in your wallet, meaning you can keep your passport safe!

You will need photo ID/passport to get into the festival. Keep it in a secure and safe place and use the on-site lockers.

LOST OR STOLEN PASSPORT?

Report the loss/theft of your passport to the on-site police, check with lost & found as passports are often handed in. Check with your airline as they may allow you to travel with another form of ID and a police report.

If a replacement travel document is required, the Embassy can issue you with an Emergency Travel Certificate. You will need to present at the Embassy in Brussels (over an hour away by train) on Monday during our opening hours with the following:

• 4 photos (photo booths are available in most bus/train/metro stations)
• Police statement of loss/theft
• Proof of ID/Copy of lost passport
• Return Travel Details (e.g. flight confirmation email)
• €30 (cash only)

Keep in mind if your passport is lost/stolen that the issuing of a replacement travel document, if required, is subject to checks that can take some time.

LOST OR STOLEN CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS
If your credit or debit card is lost or stolen, you should cancel the relevant card(s) immediately, to prevent fraudulent use:
