14 August 2023To all Irish citizens in Maui, we have complied a list of helpful contact and information.
The Maui Emergency Management Agency and the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association have asked to please note the following:
- Shelters are offering transport into Lahaina Hotels for 1 person per family to retrieve documents needed for travel.
- Best practice for missing persons is to contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767 and/or complete the MHLA Missing Persons Jotform at https://form.jotform.com/232222001629038.
- There will be periodic releases of identified fatalities, but identification may be delayed with foreign nationals.

FEMA encourages Maui residents impacted by the wildfires to register for disaster assistance. People can register for FEMA assistance online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621- 3362 or by using the FEMA App. Help may be available for temporary housing, home repairs and low-interest disaster loans.
