Visit of the Chairman of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs & Trade to the Gulf
The Embassy supported a visit to Doha and Kuwait by Mr Pat Breen, Chairman of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade. Mr Breen, who was an invited panellist at the Doha Forum, had meetings with the Qatari Prime Minister and with his counterpart in the Advisory Council.
The Kuwait programme featured a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce, a series of meetings at the National Assembly – including with regard to a possible visit to Dublin by an Assembly delegation in September.
The Chairman used the various meetings to underline the strong recovery in the Irish economy, and the opportunities for strengthening commercial ties with the region.
