23 November: Ambassador Kelly hosts networking reception for Irish students in the Netherlands
On 23 November 2017, Ambassador Kelly hosted a reception at the Embassy for Irish students studying in the Netherlands. The reception was an opportunity for Irish students in the Netherlands to get to know one another and to share their experiences of Dutch life. Students also had a chance to meet the Embassy team and learn about the work of the Embassy.

22 October: Embassy of Ireland supports screening of Irish short film at Klik! Animation Film Festival in Amsterdam
The Embassy of Ireland supported the screening of Irish short film The Lost Letter at Klik! Animation Film Festival held at the iconic Eye Film museum in Amsterdam on 22 October 2017. The theme of this year’s festival was ‘never grow up’ and the film was Ireland’s contribution to the ‘European Delights’ programme of the festival.
21 October: Ambassador Kelly attends European Gaelic Football Championships in Maastricht
On 21 October 2017, Ambassador Kelly attended the European Gaelic Football Championships 2017 in Maastricht. The championship brought together ladies and men’s teams from across Europe, with 700 players representing 50 teams from 15 countries in what is European GAA’s most high profile annual event.

26 September: Embassy of Ireland participates in European Day of Languages 2017 in Rotterdam
On 26 September 2017, the Embassy of Ireland took part in the European Day of Languages event hosted by the Czech Institute in Rotterdam. Embassy staff, with the assistance of Czech Institute colleagues, spent the morning teaching basic conversational Irish to Dutch schoolchildren.

15 May: Ambassador Kelly addresses Irish Farmers Association Dinner in Amsterdam
On 15 May 2017, Ambassador Kelly addressed the Irish Farmers Association at a dinner in Amsterdam. He spoke about the central role that farming and agriculture play in the Irish economy, the Netherlands as an important market for Irish agri-food exports, and the work by Ireland and the Netherlands to mitigate against the impact of Brexit.
10-12 May: Embassy supports series of Dutch literary engagements by Irish author Mary Costello
Winner of the Irish Novel of the Year Award and the overall Irish Book of the Year in 2014 for her novel Academy Street, Irish author Mary Costello visited the Netherlands from 10-12 May to participate in a number of literary engagements supported by the Embassy.

An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD visits The Hague for a meeting with the Prime Ministers of the Netherlands and Denmark. He also delivered the 15th Norbert Schmelzer lecture on ‘Brexit and the Future of Europe’ at the Sociëteit De Witte.
13 April: Ambassador Kelly delivers Ireland’s national statement at a meeting of the Executive Council
H.E. Mr Kevin Kelly, Permanent Representative of Ireland to the OPCW delivered Ireland’s national statement at the 54th Meeting of the Executive Council of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, condemning the recent alleged chemical weapons attack at Khan Shaykhun.
