Minister English and Deputy Mayor MUDr Iveta Plšeková launch the “greening” in Bratislava 2015

A symbol of the friendship between Ireland and Slovakia, on the evenings of the 16th and 17th March 2015, the historic Radisson Blu Hotel was bathed in a beautiful shade of green light to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel joined an impressive list of iconic buildings worldwide that were greened for St. Patrick's Day including the Colosseum in Rome and the Great Wall of China. 2015 marked the 10th anniversary of cooperation between the cities of Bratislava and Dublin and so it was fitting that Bratislava is the first city in Slovakia to "go green" for St. Patrick's Day.

Businesses in central Bratislava joined the celebrations. The Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel, D. Steakhouse and Korzo in Hviezdoslavovo Square served special St. Patrick's Day menus, the Carlton garage gave parking discounts to customers wearing green and Irish pubs Goblins, Uisce Beatha and the Dubliner organised special St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Goblins and the Dubliner featured Irish dancing and Uisce Beatha launched a photography exhibition of photographs from Ireland.
