Irish Aid's 2018-19 Fellowship Training Programme is now open for applications from citizens of Sierra Leone

Thelma Nelson from Liberia's Ministry of Health, who is currently studying for a Masters in Public Health at University College Dublin, and Allieu Koroma from the Sierra Leone Law Officers' Department, who is studying for an LLM in International Criminal Law at NUI, Galway, are among the fellows undertaking studies in Ireland during the 2017-18 academic year

In line with the priorities of Ireland's programme of development cooperation in Sierra Leone, applications are now open for Irish Aid's 2018-19 Fellowship Training Programme (FTP). The Fellowship Training Programme offers scholarship opportunities for full-time study at Masters level to mid-career professionals from Sierra Leone who meet the programme's eligibility criteria.

Applications are invited from individuals working in the following Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and other organisations operating in areas of strategic relevance to Irish Aid's programme in Sierra Leone:

  • MSWGCA (Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children's affairs)
  • MOHS (Ministry of Health and Sanitation)
  • MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Forestry)
  • MOJ (Ministry of Justice) Law Officers Department
  • MLCPE (Ministry of Lands, Country Planning and the Environment)
  • HKI (Helen Keller International)
  • IRC (International Rescue Committee)
  • ACF (Action Contre La Faim)
  • SCF (Save the Children)
  • WHH (Welthungerhilfe)
  • 50/50 Group
  • Human Rights Defenders Network
  • SEND SL
  • AdvocAid
  • NEC – National Electoral Commission
  • St. Joseph's – Makeni
  • Sierra Leone Police – Family Support Unit (FSU)

The closing date for receipt of all fellowship application packs in Sierra Leone is 8th December 2017. Application packs received after this date will not be eligible for consideration.

Completed application packs should be submitted at the Embassy of Ireland, 8 St Joseph's Avenue- off Spur Road, Freetown.
