St Patrick’s Day in Seoul

The 14th annual St Patricks day parade was held in D-Cube city outdoor park Sindorim, Seoul on Saturday 15 March.

The open air festival which has become synonymous with Saint Patrick’s Day in Seoul, attracted up to 5,000 spectators and was the centerpiece of the Irish Association of Korea’s celebrations.
The festival is known for its keen participation from members of both the Irish and Korean community and this year it did not disappoint with musicians playing Irish music, both traditional and popular rock. Musicians from Ireland also featured heavily on the bill and the festival offered an opportunity for the public to get involved with traditional Irish-dancing.

Over the years the festival has become a major international family event, with children having the opportunity to get their faces painted; listen to some traditional storytelling; and sing and dance to the live music.
