Bloomsday 2017

Bloomsday is an annual celebration of James Joyce that takes place in Dublin and around the world on 16 June, the date depicted in Joyce's most famous novel, 'Ulysses'.

On Friday 16 June, copies of Joyce’s ‘Ulysses’ will be available in English and Polish to pick up and read over a coffee in a number of Warsaw cafés. For more information, see Bloomsday 2017 on Facebook.

Join us on Tuesday 20 June at 18.00 in Warsaw’s Teatr Polski for a special Bloomsday event, with readings by Andrzej Seweryn and Ambassador Gerard Keown. Joyce experts Katarzyna Bazarnik, Leszek Drong and Jerzy Jarniewicz will discuss James Joyce and the Irish Literary Revival of the early twentieth century. An exhibition on the Irish Literary Revival produced by the Irish Cultural Foundation will be on display. The event will be followed by a reception.

Entry to this event is free but places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will be held in Polish only. Further information can be found here.
