Doing Business with Ireland

How we can help.

At the Embassy, we work closely with Irish state agencies to promote trade, tourism and inward investment.

Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Simon Coveney addressed the North Atlantic Seafood Forum in Bergen on March 14th 2014

Team Ireland

We work closely with key Irish state agencies to promote trade, tourism and inward investment.

The Embassy works with Irish state agencies to:

  • Promote Ireland's trade and investment objectives
  • Promote Irish exports
  • Promote Irish food, culture, heritage and tradition
  • Promote Ireland as a tourism destination

Working with state agencies in Norway

The Embassy often receives queries from Irish companies or individuals about business in Norway. Once a query is received, we work closely with the relevant state agency to provide the best advice and assistance. We also seek out commercial opportunities for Irish businesses and key Irish sectors within Norway. With the assistance of the agencies we aim to:

  • Support Irish companies who want to find and access new markets and help with resolving commercial difficulties where possible
  • Provide general advice on doing business locally and, through our network of contacts, pursue export and investment opportunities that will benefit Ireland
  • Work to secure market access for Irish products in key sectors.

Working with the right expertise in relevant state agencies is part of our successful strategy.

Business Networks in Norway

The Embassy has setup a networking forum for those Irish business people working in Norway. It's linked to the Irish Professional Nordic Network-IPNN group on LinkedIn and you can request to join this group via a LinkedIn profile. This is a forum where Irish business people in Norway and Norwegians with strong Irish links can meet, create contacts and attend relevant presentations by guest speakers. This is a free event and all those interested are welcome.

The Embassy also has a very strong working relationship with the Norwegian-Irish Business Association, which was established in 1994 as a forum and network for companies, organisations and private persons interested in strengthening the business relationship between Ireland and Norway. If you wish to make contact with NIBA, please use the following link.

The network is particularly interested in expanding its contacts with Norwegian businesses in all sectors of the economy.
