1951 CONVENTION TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

As of 12 noon on 19 July 2022, Ireland is temporarily suspending operation of the European Agreement on the Abolition of Visas for Refugees for a period of 12 months. As of that date, holders of 1951 travel documents are required to be in possession of an Irish entry visa before travelling to the border. Full details are available here

 

CITIZENS' REGISTRATION

All Irish citizens are advised to register their contact details on the Citizens’ Registration, which allows the Deparment of Foreign Affairs to contact you and provide assistance in the event of an unforeseen crisis or family emergency while you are anywhere overseas. https://www.dfa.ie/travel/citizens-registration

 

COVID-19

There are no longer any COVID-19 travel restrictions on travelling between Ireland and Finland.

We advise all Irish citizens when travelling abroad to remain vigilant and follow the instructions and advice from the local authorities.

 

EMERGENCIES

Emergency Consular assistance continues to be provided and any Irish citizens in need of assistance should call +358 9 682 4240 and leave a message clearly stating name, phone number and the issue. The mailbox is monitored regularly and the Duty Officer will call you back as soon as possible.

 

PASSPORTS

All passport applicants are required to apply or renew online.

UKRAINE

Visa requirements for Ukrainian nationals are currently suspended.

All other non-EEA nationals who are ordinarily subject to a visa requirement still need to apply for a visa, even if travelling from Ukraine or travelling with a Ukrainian national. You can find further information here
