Opening of Embassy Premises
The Embassy's permanent home opened to the public on 17 March - St. Patrick's Day! This is the first resident Embassy of Ireland in Croatia and one which we intend will promote the links - human, commercial and cultural - between the two countries.
The Embassy was very pleased to welcome Minister of State Kevin Humphreys T.D. to Zagreb to perform the official opening of the premises. Also present at the opening were Ambassador Harrington and Ireland's Honorary Consul to Croatia, Mr Emil Tedeschi, Representatives of the Croatian authorities, the diplomatic community and members of Croatia's small Irish community and their friends were present for the celebration.
Speaking at the opening Minister Humphreys said he was very pleased that Ireland established an Embassy in Croatia. It will focus on trade and investment, as well as promoting Irish culture and assisting Irish citizens who are living here, visiting here on holiday or residing here on a temporary basis. It will equip Ireland to avail of new opportunities and will create a solid base for business that resources will be in place to support them in key markets and regions, "I wish Ambassador Tim Harrington every success with his work and I would like to reassure him that he has the full support of the Irish Government in delivering a quality service in Croatia."
The Embassy is located in the Eurocentar Building, 23 Miramarska Avenue, Zagreb 10 000. It is located close to many administrative and cultural buildings and also to the main train station. The new offices are on the 3rd floor of the Eurocentar and have been fully fitted out to provide an attractive and modern workspace, showcasing Irish design and furniture, in the heart of Zagreb. The Embassy will provide services to the public, Irish and Croatia.
