On behalf of the Embassy of Ireland in Argentina, I would like to welcome you to our website.
I hope that you will find it both user friendly and informative.
This Embassy represents Ireland in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. We work to promote bilateral relations between the government and people of Ireland and each of these four countries.
There is a long tradition of friendship and partnership between our peoples, exemplified in particular by the important Irish community in Argentina, the largest outside the English-speaking world. In recent times, our relations have been enriched by commercial, cultural and educational links. Information on these is available in these pages.
The Consulates of Ireland in La Paz (Bolivia) and in Asunción (Paraguay), are headed by Honorary Consuls who maintain close contact with the Embassy and who assists Irish citizens and others in consular matters.
Our relations are further strengthened by the presence of EU Delegations in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. In 2023, Ireland celebrates our 50th anniversary of EU membership, which we joined on 1 January 1973.
While the Embassy is located in Buenos Aires, we want to be accessible to Irish citizens and friends of Ireland in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. Wherever you are across the region, we are here to assist you with any queries you may have.
