Doing Business with Ireland

At the Consulate, we work closely with the Embassy of Ireland in London and with Irish state agencies to promote trade, tourism and inward investment.

Irish Business Network Scotland

We can:

  • Support Irish companies which want to find and access new markets, and help with resolving commercial difficulties where possible
  • Provide general advice on doing business locally and, through our network of contacts, pursue export and investment opportunities that will benefit Ireland
  • Work to secure market access for Irish products in key sectors in high-growth and emerging markets

Team Ireland

We work closely with the Embassy of Ireland in London and with key Irish state agencies to promote trade, tourism, and inward investment. With offices in Britain focused on inward investment and Irish exports across sectors, Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, the Irish Food Board, and Tourism Ireland are part of our Local Market Team. This team works together to maximise opportunities for Irish business interests.

We also work with an invaluable existing network within the Irish community in Scotland and the rest of Britain. A number of key partnerships have formed with Irish business networks, which promote Irish business and economic interests through key contacts and business links in Scotland, the rest of Britain, and globally. Some 40 members of the Irish Government's Global Irish Network are UK based.

Causeway: Ireland-Scotland Business Exchange

The Consulate also works closely with Causeway: Ireland-Scotland Business Exchange (formerly the Irish Business Network Scotland), which was launched by Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Paschal Donohoe T.D. in Edinburgh Castle in June 2016. This organisation was established with a view to connecting senior professionals and entrepreneurs from across Scotland and Ireland in order to help develop business and economic cooperation, and it is supported by both the Irish and Scottish Governments. For more information, including details of how to join, visit the Causeway website.
